Terms of Use

The basics: scan only what you own, we'll keep your data safe, and we're all here to make the internet more secure.

Last Updated: February 2026

TL;DR for Founders: Scan your own stuff (or get permission first), don't use our tools for evil, and we'll provide great security scanning. That's the gist.

The Agreement

By using WScanner, you agree to these terms. If something here doesn't work for you, reach out—we're reasonable people. But the core rules (scan only what you own, don't be malicious) are non-negotiable.

Scan Only What You Own

Important: Only scan websites, APIs, and servers you own or have written permission to test. If you're a founder scanning your own app, you're good. Testing a client's site? Get their written OK first. Unauthorized scanning is illegal and will get your account terminated.

Don't Be Evil

Don't use WScanner to attack systems, steal data, or do anything illegal. Don't try to hack our platform. Don't abuse the free tier by creating multiple accounts. Basically, don't be that person.

What We Promise (and Don't)

We work hard to catch security issues, but no scanner is perfect. Use our results as a starting point, not the final word. We're not liable if a scan misses something or if running a scan causes issues (though we design them to be safe).

Limitation of Liability

We're not responsible for damages from using (or not being able to use) our scanners. If a scan causes downtime or you get breached despite scanning, that's on you to handle. We provide tools, not guarantees.

Follow the Law

You're responsible for making sure your use of WScanner complies with your local laws. Different countries have different rules about security testing—know yours.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WScanner, its founders, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service, including any scans you initiate against targets you are not authorized to scan.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if we believe you are using WScanner to scan targets without authorization, or in violation of these terms. We will cooperate with law enforcement if required.
